Replacement of ATMEL's MCU

Crazy!!

Atmel's chips Mega series price raise around 3 times and more. How can we earn for a living? A low cost MCUs like Atmega8 is price at RMB18.5/pcs, but 12 month ago we buy them at RMB6.0/pcs.  Is there anyone who can have a low cost solution for lower level Mega MCUs?  I did not think Mega8 is worth so much, must stop Atmel's evil trick! If you have any suggestion of it, please discuss with me.

What's happen to Atmel?

Atmel!!  What's Happen??

 

I am crazy recently by ATMEL. There are also many news around for her. She will cut orders in China, clear market in China,some restrict rules for China..... Much much more.  But I am so upset for them now! It's likely Ateml's parts dispared from the market in a day. The Chips price rised double and double. Customer shout at me for shipping time. On time delivery policy is like a silly joke here now, Atmel put me off.

 

A very popular talking is Ateml will rise price of all production line in China, because it's very mess here for passed years. Many hardware engineer like MEGA AVR ,but I think they should turn they head around now. Price is not competitive any more, they are going to get new source of MCU. Some of my customer is considering change design to cut out this bad situation.
